June Spotlight Artist: Broken Robots
This album plays like a retrospective of pop trends made by visitors from the future. Each song sounds simultaneously like a lesson in music history and a glimpse into what’s to come. Similar to the hyperpop movement, they borrow from a broad spectrum of popular sounds, but what is produced is drastically different. The band refers to their sound as “nostalgic futurism” but they may be the first anti-hyperpop act to exist.
